And By The Way ...

		Apropos of what I said,
		the theater's not really dead.
		Alcohol goes to my head.
		My favorite zeppelins are led,
and, by the way, I love you.

		Ambition's made of sterner stuff.
The road ahead is really rough.
Let's cut straight through the fluffy stuff.
		Once is never quite enough,
and, by the way, I love you.

Words go skipping on the breeze.
Ships go slipping through the seas.
Wind goes whipping through the trees
		ripping out old memories,
and, by the way, I love you.

By words and deeds our wars are fought.
With shells and beads Manhatten's bought.
Through clues and leads the thief is caught.
This poem needs a lot more thought,
and, by the way, I love you.
