Midnight Musing

Who glides across the midnight sky
	suspended only by my phantasy,
playing tricks upon my sleepy eye,
	a dream in virtual reality.

She tries to call but cannot speak,
the silence screaming from the strain.
	Awakened by the voiceless shriek
I lie surrounded by her pain.

She reaches down to take my hand,
pulls me roughly to her side,
looking down upon the darkened land
as through the night we slowly glide.

Her arms are wrapped around me tight.
I feel her trembling tears subside.
My arms are wrapped around the night,
she and I forever trapped inside.
