Flashing Before Your Eyes

		Bogeymen and chocolate bears
		Bon vivants and smiling clowns
		faceless angels in the dark
		ponytails and wedding gowns

		Falling backwards down the stairs
		clairvoyants with toothless frowns
		countless lovers in the park
		images in grays and browns

		Dangling feet and answered prayers
		debutantes with golden crowns
		pointless questions miss the mark
		the sole survivor sinks and drowns.
